Maintenance Free Bearings




Application:
Large cooling water pumps often have wet bearings. The shafts normally revolve on a
water film Hydrodynamic but at the start-up and shut-down of the pump the friction and
wear of the bearing material are very important for reliable operation. When the water
can contain small particles the resistance against abrasive wear of the bearings
becomes important. The originally fitted bearings on these pumps lasted a half year,
the D-glide bearings replacing them have been in there now for more than three years
without problems.
