Maintenance Free Bearings




Application:
Spherical bearings are used a lot in the eyes if hydraulic cylinders and many other
joints and hinges where the alignment of shaft and housing cannot be guaranteed.
In wet and dirty environments it is difficult to keep these bearings (both lubricated
as well as the maintenance free bearings) in a good condition. Seals and lubrication
must be in a perfect condition in order to keep the bearings alive. In many of these
applications the maximum misalignment angles are limited. If (in general) these angles
are limited to no more than 0.5° they can be replaced by D-glide bushings in one piece
with the same dimensions and geometry. Flexibility of the bearings is sufficient to cope
with any misalignment. The result is a cheap, reliable bearing, without moving parts
and without the need for external provisions like seals or lubrication.
